People, Places, Things
As a transplant to New York from Atlanta, my first encounters with the big city were intimidating. Buildings blocked the way of the sky, people walked too fast, and there were so many ways to feel lost. I often longed for a way to make it feel mine, which was next to impossible since there is no real way to contain a wild and unruly jungle. So, I settled for trying to making it feel familiar the easiest way I knew how. The introverted way with silence and a camera shutter. During my time at the New School in Manhattan I teamed up with a few other classmates who were also transplants to the city to document each of the boroughs through our own eyes. This collection of photos are my contribution, and the evidence that I was there, and that life happened as it often does.
